Lifestyle medicine is a branch of medicine that focuses on promoting and adopting healthy behaviors and lifestyles as a means of preventing and treating chronic diseases. It emphasizes the importance of addressing the root causes of illnesses, rather than just managing symptoms with medications or invasive procedures. Lifestyle medicine incorporates evidence-based practices from various disciplines, including nutrition, physical activity, stress management, sleep hygiene, substance abuse avoidance, and social connections, to improve overall health and well-being.
My practice combines Lifestyle Medicine with gentle Cranio-Sacral Osteopathic Treatment. When combined, these two modalities can facilitate healing which prevents and improves many chronic illnesses.
